1 – Manufacturers of turbocharger clench the part number, serial number and OEM number of each turbocharger produced, on a convenient place of the turbocharger with metal labeling. Before installing your turbocharger on the vehicle please confirm these numbers are correct.
Turbocharger part number
Turbocharger serial number
Engine manufacturer no (OES)
Turbocharger type number
2- Check the exhaust and intake pipes of the engine. Clean the interior of these pipes again thoroughly. Make sure that vehicle's air filter is original and replace the filter with a brand new one prior to installation.
3- Confirm that your seals are properly cut and they are not worn. Never use liquid seals. Make sure that contact surfaces of oil inlet and outlet pipes are clean. If possible use original seals.
4 – Use the engine oil and oil filter recommended by the engine's manufacturer. Prior to installation of turbocharger, make sure to replace your engine oil and oil filter. Make sure that lubrication period of the vehicle is within the factory exit limits; because over or insufficient lubrication will cause malfunction of your installed turbocharger in short time. Make sure that oil inlet and outlet pipes of your vehicle are clean and not clogged.
5- Do not use old or worn bolts during installation. Similarly check the exhaust manifold and make sure there are no cracks or breaking. Check that exhaust seal is in correct position.
6- Prior to installing your turbocharger in the engine, add some amount of oil into the turbo oil inlet hole and turn the compressor wheel with your hand a few turns and make sure that shaft and rings inside the housing are properly lubricated.
7 After installation of your turbocharger, run the engine in idle position for some time. In this period check with your eyes and hands for any oil or air leakage.
IMPORTANT!
Increasing the rev of your engine before reaching sufficient temperature could cause damage to both your engine and turbo.
Also resting your engine in idle position before stopping would increase the life of your turbocharger.
